HYBE Shares Clarification Regarding Expenses For BTS’s World Expo 2030 Busan Concert

HYBE has released a statement regarding: BTSWorld Expo 2030 Busan Korea Concert.

In the statement, HYBE addressed the issue of necessary expenses to cover the upcoming concert. The agency stated that they had already revealed that a significant portion of the costs would be funded by corporate sponsorship, online streaming advertising, its subsidiary THE CITY, and more. HYBE has decided that the other costs that cannot be covered by these measures will be covered personally by the company itself. They reiterated that BTS will also perform without payment in order to realize their earlier hopes of participating in a free concert with fans.

HYBE noted that BTS has participated in national events since the past, not being at the forefront of cost, always carefully considering government support as it belongs to the taxpayers’ money. The same goes for the Busan concert and the government, the local government and the expo committee try their best to provide a concert Location and finance the concert with a limited budget. HYBE clarified their position that they do not consider it desirable for large amounts of government and corporate resources to be invested or exhausted by the concert. BTS has had great results at past national events because they focused on creating high quality results, which was meaningful in itself.

HYBE expressed their wish not to give up on the quality of the performance during the concert, writing: “HYBE and BTS are proud to contribute to the country.” In particular, they saw the event as an important opportunity, especially since the world stars BTS and HYBE have their roots in South Korea. Not to mention that the Busan World Expo 2030 will bring economic effects of several tens of trillions won (several tens of billions of dollars) to Busan and Korea.
