‘The Voice’ Fans Are Showing Up for Kelly Clarkson After She Shared Emotional Music News

Kelly Clarkson is almost ready to share what she has been through in her personal life through new music.

In a heartfelt video posted to The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s official account, the host of the daytime TV show revealed that people can expect a new album later this year. While the big announcement is exciting, she was quick to explain why she’s taking so long to release it. As she implied in the clip, she needed some time to heal after separating from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock before writing new songs.

“I released an album this year – I swear,” she began in the Fragment of January 14. “I know I’ve talked about it, but look – I’m going to be real honest with you… it took me a minute to get this album out. Because I just had to be over it, through it, like all around it.”

The american idol alum continued, “I had to get past it and talk about it because I know people want to ask me about the album and the songs and I just feel like…I needed a minute…so, it’s like, it’s really cool. And it’s a great arc of an entire relationship. So it’s not all sad or angry, but…that’s in it.”

When fans got wind of the fact that The voice star has new music in the works, they immediately started rallying around her in the comments.

“Giving yourself some grace leads to beautiful, new beginnings ,” one person wrote on Instagram. “I’m so excited for you you deserve the best!” another follower agreed. “You’ll get through it, but you have to feel it first. Glad you took the time YOU needed to do that. ,” another user added.

June 2020 Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon after nearly seven years of marriage. The former couple also share two children, daughter River Rose and son Remington “Remy” Alexander. Given the nature of their relationship, the “since you’ve been goneThe singer noted the importance of taking her time before she feels comfortable sharing elements of it with fans.

“I hadn’t really worked hardcore on an album until I had to,” she said told Variety in September 2022. “I was just really busy… But then the whole divorce thing happened, and I had to write it… I didn’t know if I was going to release it because you can be really angry in that frame of mind. So some songs certainly cover the gamut of emotions; there’s everything on the album.”
