World Cup 2022 highlights: Richarlison, Brazil top Serbia, 2-0

The FIFA World Cup 2022 Thursday continued with Brazil lock out Serbia2-0, at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar. RicharlisonBrazil’s fine footwork earned Brazil three points in Group G and extended its streak of World Cup victories.

Earlier, Portugal barely survived Ghana3-2, to take three points in Group H. Elsewhere, Switzerland earned three points in Group G after beating Cameroon1-0 while Uruguay and South Korea battled for a scoreless draw in the second game of the day. Both teams took one point in Group H for their efforts.

Brazil just kept beating, and Alex Sandro almost hit one. His efforts, however, fell short.

Anthony replaced Neymar due to injury around the 80th minute.

Meanwhile, Brazil kept putting pressure on Serbia and that’s where it ended.


Set up the stage

Group G was back in the forefront on Thursday, as the number 1 team in the world took to the field. Entering Thursday’s game, Brazil was 73-18-18 all-time in the World Cup and had more tournament appearances than any other country (22), including this year.

The Selecao have arguably the most talented roster of the tournament this year, headlined by Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar, who is one of FOX Bet’s favorites to win this year’s Golden Boot.

In the hunt

On the other hand, Serbia entered Thursday’s game 18-20-8 all-time in the World Cup (including entering as Yugoslavia). It was the team’s 13th tournament appearance and second in a row.
